This Callaway Superhot golf ball review is purely based off personal experience from the golf course and insights from other golfers’ experience. As of February 2024, Callaway do not provide any information on their website regarding the Callaway Superhot golf ball.

The Callaway Superhot Bold is a slightly newer model which is designed to offer similar characteristics to the Superhot. The main difference is in the appearance, as the Superhot comes in red, orange, or yellow, in a matte finish, offering a more vibrant and colourful appearance.

Pros ✅ Cons ❌
Sturdy Ball Flight Minimal Greenside Spin
Good Distance Feel Could Be Better

✅ Sturdy Ball Flight

Typically, less expensive golf balls produce weaker ball flights. These cheaper golf balls are noticeably worse in windy conditions. Yet considering the price of the Callaway Superhot, I didn’t observe this same ‘weaker’ flight. Other golfers who’ve used the Superhot have commented on the relatively penetrating flight produced by the Superhot.

Comparatively, when stacked against other budget-friendly options, such as the Srixon Soft Feel, the Superhot stands out in this aspect.

✅ Good Distance

Everything is relative to price. Compared to premium, tour level golf balls like the Srixon Z Star XV, Titleist Pro V1 or Callaway Chrome Soft X, the Superhot won’t quite go as far as these tour level balls.

But in my analysis, I compared the Callaway Superhot golf ball with other more affordable balls, amongst which the Superhot proved to be a pretty good contender when it comes to overall distance. The Superhot displayed slightly better results with regards to distance compared to the TaylorMade Distance + and Srixon Distance. With driver, in my case, the Superhot was travelling around 3-4 yards further on average.

❌ Minimal Greenside Spin

It’s no surprise that the Callaway Superhot doesn’t deliver much greenside spin. Given its budget-friendly nature and emphasis on maximising distance, expecting significant control near the greens would be unrealistic.

Ultimately, it boils down to personal preference. If you’re comfortable with the trade-off of sacrificing some greenside spin for a golf ball that travels a bit further off the tee, then the Superhot could be a good fit for your game.

❌ Feel Could Be Better

On the whole, the feel of the Superhot wasn’t terrible. However, over the last decade, there has been a notable increase in the number of affordable golf balls that provide an exceptional feel. Golf balls such as the TaylorMade Soft Select or Titleist Tru Feel offer a feeling which is almost on par with tour level golf balls. I just didn’t quite experience this same sensation with the Superhot.

Callaway Superhot Summary

To wrap up this Callaway Superhot golf ball review, let’s consider the kind of golfer who might benefit from this golf ball and those who might not find it as suitable.

If your club head speed falls between 85-100 mph with driver, the Superhot could offer a bit more distance compared to many other golf balls. If you’re okay with trading off a slightly less satisfying feel around the greens for those extra yards off the tee, then the Superhot could be an excellent fit.

However, for golfers with a swing speed below 85 mph or those who prefer a softer golf ball for better playability around the greens, there are alternative options available at similar prices that might be more fitting.

In all honesty, for the majority of golfers looking for golf balls within this same price range, the Callaway Supersoft would be likely be a better fit. But if you’re curious what alternatives are availability for a similar price, then check out our best budget golf balls.
