Callaway Warbird Golf Ball Review – Pros and Cons
Pros ✅ | Cons ❌ |
Excellent Distance | Little Spin Control |
Great Value | Firmer Feel |
Durable |
✅ Excellent Distance
The Callaway Warbird is a golf ball optimised for distance. Its firm feel is purposefully crafted to maximise tee-to-green distance. In my testing, I observed a noticeable boost in both driver and iron shot distances compared to other golf balls in a similar price range. In my case, the difference in distance was around 5 yards on average, both with driver and 7 iron.
✅ Great Value
The Callaway Warbird looks great considering its price and it really does do what it’s suppose to as far as providing more distance is concerned. Considering it’s more than half the price of a lot of alternative, more premium golf balls, it is an excellent option for many golfers seeking more distance off the tee without having to break the bank.
✅ Durable
The firmer feel of this golf ball results in a more durable golf ball which does not scuff or wear as much as other alternatives. This was evident in my evaluation, with almost no scuff marks observed at the conclusion of the on-course assessment. Additionally, feedback from various other golfers who’ve used the Warbird have commented on the excellent durability of this golf ball.
❌ Little Spin Control
Finding a cheaper golf ball which offers lots of spin control is rare. Especially amongst golf balls which are purely optimised for distance. As expected, the Callaway Warbird showed little spin control during my assessment. While this was expected, it doesn’t quite match the ability of various alternative golf balls such as the Titleist TruFeel when considering spin control with small chips and pitches around the green.
❌ Firmer Feel
A firmer feel is not necessary a disadvantage. Especially considering that while this golf ball is advertised as having a firm feel, personally, I didn’t find it exceptionally firm. Numerous other golfers who’ve used this ball have emphasised its firmness which is generally a characteristic that most golfers try to avoid. This isn’t always the case, as some golfers do prefer a firmer feel. But in the spirit of collective input, I recognise that some golfers do find the Callaway Warbird a bit too firm.
Comments to Add
Callaway provide this golf ball in both white and yellow, and offer the option to customise text colour in black, red, blue or green on the Callaway website.
Summary
To summarise this Callaway Warbird golf ball review, I would recommend this golf ball to any golfer who is looking to maximise distance off the tee and with iron shots. The Callaway Warbird offers great value, as a firmer feeling, durable golf ball, suitable for golfers searching for extra distance off the tee.
