It’s remarkably soft and gentle on the hands, yet it feels strong, giving you this feeling of a stable ball flight. This unique blend of softness and resilience makes the Pro V1 special. Whether you prefer a softer or firmer feel, the Pro V1 is likely to deliver an excellent sensation either way.

Typically, the first thing golfers notice when using the Pro V1 is its impressive spin control. In recent times, other golf ball manufacturers have produced other golf balls which are said to offer a similar standard of spin, like the Callaway Chrome Soft X for example. Still, in my comparisons of spin control among various premium golf balls, the Pro V1 consistently comes out on top.

The Pro V1 seamlessly combines a great feel with optimal distance and flight, excelling both off the tee and with iron shots. Impressively, there aren’t any noticeable drawbacks from tee to green with this golf ball. The design, described as mid-flight, felt spot-on during testing, delivering the expected performance off the tee. While the Pro V1X caters to those seeking a higher launch, and the AVX for a lower one, the Pro V1 sits comfortably in the middle, making it an ideal choice for many golfers.

Quality often comes at a cost, and the Titleist Pro V1 is no exception. Priced as a premium golf ball, it reflects its longstanding reputation as one of the best in the game. It’s important to note that you don’t have to spend £50 / dozen to get a premium golf ball. There are alternatives available at nearly half the price, offering commendable performance that may not quite match the Pro V1 but comes close. Ultimately, the choice depends on how much you’re willing to spend.
