Titleist TruFeel Review - Pros & Cons

✅ Impressive Feel

✅ Quality distance and flight

✅ Great spin considering the price

❌ Not suitable for faster swings

Impressive Feel

The TruFeel lived up to its name during the our testing. The ball delivered an exceptional soft feel which was surprising considering the low price. In comparison to other golf balls in a similar price range, it really does stand out as possibly the best for providing a premium feeling.

Quality Distance and Flight

The TruFeel is a great fit for golfers with slightly slower swing speeds, as this is primarily the golfer Titleist aim this ball for. To give you an idea, if your club head speed is less than 105mph with the driver or you’re carrying the ball less than around 250 yards off the tee, this ball could be a serious contender to maximise and optimise both your ball flight and overall distance.

Great Spin Considering the Price

As golf ball technology continuously improves, there are several affordable options which offer a great soft feeling. Some examples include the TaylorMade Soft Select or Callaway Supersoft. However, finding a budget golf ball which provides a lot of spin is a lot more uncommon. The spin that the TruFeel seemed to be generating when chipping around the green and hitting pitches into the green during testing was pretty good for that of a cheaper golf ball.

This characteristic is certainly a rare trait for an inexpensive golf ball, and the TruFeel certainly stands out in this regard. Depsite Titleist themselves saying this golf ball is relatively low spinning around the green, I have to say that it much exceeded what I was expecting. For those golfers who are looking for excessive spin without the premium price-tag, the TruFeel will likely be an excellent choice.

Not Suitable for Faster Swings

As highlighted earlier, the TruFeel is specifically designed to suit those golfers with slower swing speeds. Through testing, I noticed that off the tee, the ball’s performance wasn’t optimal given my club head speed, which is approximately 110mph. It became apparent that the TruFeel was not the most suitable choice to optimise distance for those players who swing it faster. Its design certainly favours golfers with relatively slower swing speeds, and for individuals with quicker swings, exploring alternative golf ball options might better accommodate their playing style and preferences.

Summary

In our comprehensive Titleist TruFeel review, we can conclude that this golf ball is a perfect match for golfers with slower swing speeds seeking to enhance distance and achieve optimal flight off the tee. With the TruFeel’s combination of soft feel and the ability to generate substantial spin, this golf ball is an excellent choice. Nonetheless, we probably would encourage golfers with faster swing speeds to use an alternative golf ball, as the TruFeel may not provide optimum flight. Despite this limitation, the Titleist TruFeel offers exceptional quality at an incredibly reasonable price point, making it a compelling option for a broad range of golfers.
